Priscilla Star Diaz, also known as P.Star, is a 22 year old American Entertainer. Starting from the age of nine years old, she began her rap career taking home more than eight beauty pageant titles in the day, to performing her latest rhymes in nightclubs around New York City at night.

She and her older sister started out life in a foster home until their father gained custody and the three moved to the Bronx. After their father suffered a series of health setbacks, the family moved to Harlem, when P-Star discovered – as she put it – that she "could spit fire." Before long, she was battling everyone, everywhere and won the Citywide Hip Hop Competition and was the youngest female to enter the competition. It was then when she became the subject of MTV interviews (MTV You hear it first) and (MTV show MADE) that made her career take off.

 

In her early career, P-Star attended the Jo Lee Dance and Performance Arts School in Harlem, and received acting lessons at the City Lights Youth Theater on 41st. Since then, she has appeared in the Off-Broadway production of Take the Train to Maine at the Second Stage Theater. In a short film, 2005’s Sita, she played a little girl dying of AIDS; that year, she also appeared in Hijinks, a Candid Camera-style show for kids on Nick at Nite featuring Susan Sarandon. P-Star shot a pilot for her own show on Nickelodeon, P-Star and Angela. Additionally, she has finalized a second pilot, The Adventures of Super Jane
 

Between the years 2005-07 P-Star had her first mix tape release called The Young Feminist Phenomenon with her first single, "Biggie Bounce," and video was released in 2006 and was featured on Kidzbop.com. She subsequently became the Opening Voice of Hot 97’s Angie Martinez Show on New York City radio. She opened for Raven Symone at Great Adventures in 2006, and she opened up for Universal Motown artist JoJo in 2007. P-Star has opened up for several other shows for Disney and appeared on Disney's Incubator where hits are hatched. She was also featured as the lead vocalist on Reggaeton Ninos Vol. 1, which sold more than 150,000 copies (which is considered Gold in the Latin Industry), and Vol. 2 sold over 50,000 copies. Her and Reggaeton Ninos went on tour and had several television appearances include Sabado Gigante, Primer Impacto, One Nation, and the Latin Grammy Awards. P-Star also received the "Latina of Distinction" award in 2005. The same year, the NYC Dept. of Education honored her with The Legendary Hip Hop Pioneers for the Future of Hip Hop award, recognizing her for her positive presence in the community. 

 

P-Star released her first workout DVD for kids entitled "P-STAR Workout DVD Exercise Your Body and Mind Volume 1" in 2007. The debut exercise DVD features Young B (Chicken Noodle Soup) and Darkchild Records artist Megan Rochell. Throughout the DVD P-STAR is reciting multiplication, numbers and alphabets. The DVD even has a segment where children can enjoy working out with their parents or older siblings and gives tips on how important it is to drink water and eat green vegetables. The DVD was such a hit she was featured in New York Daily News twice, NY 1 News, and www.hip-hop-elements.com and mentioned in Los Angeles Times Calendar, Good Day New York, KTLA, New Jersey 1 and Live.com. In 2008, P-Star released her first album Welcome to my Show  which has 15 songs that are fun and vibrant for children of all ages. There featured her famous hit "Wanna Make You Dance" which was distributed by independent record label Hunc Records. That same hit single was featured on Music Choice Incubator. 

 

In 2009, P.Star took her talent as an actress and appeared on all three season of "The Electric Company" as one of their leading stars. The show premiered on January 23, 2009. Jessica Ruiz played by P-Star, is a fourteen-year-old girl with total aural recall allowing her to replay and display speech as text. On the show she worked with a variety of artist including broadway artist, like Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson. Other artists/actors including, Wyclef Jean, Neyo, Kyle Massey and more. The show was then nominated for eight Emmy Awards in 2010 and won five including Outstanding Children's Series. Also In 2009, her documentary P.Star Rising was premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. The film is about a talented young hip-hop performer who becomes the vehicle for her father's unfulfilled ambitions. It was filmed by Gabriel Noble of Noble Arts and Tru Films. The Film won best documentary at the Heartland Film Festival as well as the Crystal Heart Award. It was also nominated as the Golden Eye film at the Zurich Film Festival. The film included a new Soundtrack with her latest hit "Daddy's Little Girl" featuring Tony Sunshine. Her film reached a new set of Fans in Japan and began touring with her Japanese hit singles "Sukoshidake Katamomoi" and "Don't Stop the Dance"  in cities like Tokyo and Fukuoka. 
 

In 2013, Priscilla took a break from working and went to college at Denison University majoring in Theatre and Education and is expected to graduate May 2017. While focusing on her studies, Priscilla still maintained her reputation as an artist performing at school events. She also participated in several theatre productions including Margo Veil as "Big Betty" by Len Jenkins. She currently is hosting her own radio show called, "P.Star Rockin' On Da Radio" on 91.1 WDUB and also appears on several campus events as the MC Host including their big annual fashion show. 
Television show The Electric Company now currently aires everyday on HBO Family. 

 

After Graduation, Priscilla is expected to reboot her career as an all-star entertainer with her own company Diaz Family Elite, LLC as CEO. So, watch out, because the star is about to be REBORN.
